Manager: Glenn Hoddle
In the absence of a huge transfer fund, big wages have attracted experienced stars to White Hart Lane where one would expect the team to benefit considerably from the presence of players like Gustavo Poyet, Christian Ziege and Teddy Sheringham.
Still the defence looks like being a problem area. Goran Bunjevcevic arrives in London with an excellent reputation and the potential to be one of the bargains of the summer, but he is probably the sort of player that would have solved their problems in this department had they kept Sol Campbell. With him gone they still have a serious problem.
In spite of that the performances should improve after which the supporters will hope that Hoddle can talk the owners into parting with more cash.
