No point in letting a tragedy get in the way of corporate America. Al Joyner, husband of the late track star and triple Olympic gold medallist Florence Griffith-Joyner, last week announced that the "FGJ" collection will appear as scheduled in Lady Foot Locker stores in mid-November.
A portion (undeclared) of the proceeds from the sale of Flo-Jo's line of fashion wear will go towards a children's foundation set up by the athlete. The announcement of her own line of clothing may arrive too quickly for comfort for some people given that Al was reasonably asking, not so many days ago, that reporters refrain from writing about his wife and to let the family grieve in peace.
Now that the results of her autopsy are known and have revealed that she did not die from a drug-related problem, her image remains officially untarnished. No way of course the "natural causes" and "FGJ Line" announcements could be related?
