Peter Chapple-Hyam has been sacked from his post at Robert Sangster's Manton training establishment, where he will be replaced by John Gosden at the end of the year, it was revealed yesterday.
Chapple-Hyam, who first began training at Manton in 1991 and won the English and Irish 2000 Guineas for Sangster with Rodrigo de Triano the following year, will vacate the premises at the end of November.
Gosden, now principal trainer to Sheikh Mohammed, will continue to have horses in training for the Sheikh, though on a reduced scale.
