Bernadette Coffey of St Bridget's Pitch and Putt club will be bidding for a treble in national titles when she takes her place in the Women's National Strokeplay championship at Tullamore next weekend. Already the holder of the Strokeplay, Bernadette won the Matchplay championship last month and will tee up with Cork champion Ann Murphy from the ESB club.

However, her main rivals are Sheelagh Elmes (Portmarnock) and three times Dublin champion Peggy Campbell (Glenville) are also in the field. Jean Cooney (Bissell) the runner-up in this championship in 1992 and twice runner-up in the matchplay event will be seeking to leave the bridesmaid tag behind and capture her first title.
