AIRTRICITY LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION Bohemians 2 Drogheda Utd 0:CHRISTY FAGAN and Anto Flood scored as Bohemians' preferred frontline partnership renewed acquaintances to give Pat Fenlon's side a facile win at Dalymount.
But for Stephen Trimble between their posts, Drogheda would have been beaten by far more. Having scored twice in Tuesday’s win at Bray Wanderers, Fagan’s goalscoring form continued as he put Bohemians ahead in their first meaningful attack on five minutes. Flood pounced on a loose ball to put Fagan in to draw Trimble and slide the ball home.
Fagan soon returned the compliment, collecting Alan McNally’s misplaced pass to thread a sublime through ball. But Trimble made the first of a string of good saves with his feet. Minutes later Trimble produced the acrobatics to tip over Mark Rossiter’s stinging 35-yarder.
It remained one-way traffic and Trimble excelled again on 37 minutes, diving full stretch to his left to push Robert Bayly’s low shot round a post.
A fine save by Trimble from Flood lead to the second goal on 59 minutes. From Killian Brennan’s resultant corner, Bayly knocked the ball down for Flood to tap home.
