Mary Immaculate, Limerick ... 3-17 Trinity College ... 0-7 A vastly more experienced Mary Immaculate College, Limerick, had no difficulty in seeing off Trinity College in the preliminary round of the Fitzgibbon Cup in Limerick yesterday.
The home side had the groundwork done at the halfway stage when they led by 1-9 to 0-3, their goal coming from David Walsh in the 18th minute.
TCD, who travelled with just 15 players, tried their best to reduce the deficit and to their credit delayed Mary Immaculate's two second-half goals, from Eoin Vaughan and Brian Culinane, until the latter stages.
Tipperary's Dave O'Dwyer was the top scorer with 10 points. Garda College will provide the opposition to Mary Immaculate in the next stage this Saturday.
