This week this column was looking to get to the centre of several issues so who better than St Mary's College and Leinster midfield man Mark McHugh to step into the spotlight.
1. Favourite line from a movie? "Doctor: `How soon can we land.' Pilot: `I can't tell.' Doctor: `You can tell me I'm a doctor." A little cockpit humour from Airplane.
2. What book are you reading at the moment? "In to the Bear Pitt by Mark James. It chronicles the events surrounding and including the action during the 1999 Ryder Cup. I think it is extremely good. I wasn't really aware of the level of hostility that the European team faced. I mean when you read about players saying that they would never play America again, it illustrates the level of abuse they faced. I suppose it showed the other side of sport."
3. Nickname? "It's Dolly. It goes back to my days in Trinity College. It was felt that I was a clone of Ray McIlreavy and given that Dolly the sheep was the first ever cloning, that is how I got the name and it's stuck. It didn't help that Ray and myself both came from the same part of the country, that we both played in Trinity and then went on to join St Mary's."
4. Meat and two vegetables or Lemon Sole with a garlic jus? "I wouldn't be mad about the Lemon Sole so I suppose it would be the meat option. Having said that I would be willing to try anything as long as it didn't include either pasta or chicken. I can barely look at never mind eat the staple rugby player's diet."
5. Loaded Men's Magazine or Rugby World? ["]It would have to be Loaded. I get enough rugby as it is without having to read about it as well.["]
6. Two things that you would bring to a Desert Island? "Definitely a jet ski and a women's beach volleyball team. I suppose it would be important to bring the volleyball as you would never know when you might get a little bored."
