RACING: Truckers Tavern landed a confidence-boosting success last time out and he can repeat his victory of two years ago in the Peter Marsh Chase at Haydock today.

Ferdy Murphy's 10-year-old beat Hussard Collonges in the three-mile contest in 2003 but he was without a win for nearly two years before scoring in the Rowland Meyrick Chase at Wetherby last time.

Truckers Tavern ran a couple of decent races last season but he seemed to lose his way towards the end, putting in some questionable jumping displays that cost him dear. The Phardante gelding had to survive a bad blunder at Wetherby but he kept on his feet and stayed on well to land the Listed prize. That will have done his confidence no end of good and with the ground set to be very testing, Truckers Tavern can make use of his stamina.

Inglis Drever is another who will appreciate the cut and he looks set for a well-deserved success in the Commhoist Logistics Champion Hurdle Trial.

Howard Johnson's six-year-old was unfortunate enough to bump into Champion Hurdle favourite Harchibald in the 'Fighting Fifth' Hurdle at Newcastle on his seasonal bow but he put up a good fight and only went down by two lengths.

Back In Front had his measure next time out in the Bula Hurdle at Cheltenham but Inglis Drever is still a top-class performer and the heavy ground at Haydock could slow down some rivals.

At Uttoxeter, Paul Nicholls' My Will can claim a second Grade Two win in the Betfred Novices' Chase. The five-year-old won at Cheltenham last time out and although some would argue that the race lost much of its shine when both See You Sometime and Fundamentalist crashed out, My Will put in a fine display of jumping and came home four lengths to the good from El Vaquero. There is no reason why he should slip up today.
