ALL-IRELAND MFC QUARTER-FINALS Tyrone 2-12 Kerry 0-9:TYRONE ENDED Kerry's hopes of winning the minor championship hopes in emphatic style at Croke Part yesterday.
Goals from Harry Óg Conlon and Michael Donaghy were enough to give Tyrone a comfortable 2-6 to 0-4 half-time lead, with those important goals coming on 20 and 23 minutes. They were vital blows from which Kerry were never really able to fully recover.
Mark Reen battled well for Kerry in the second half and substitute Gavan O’Grady proved a handful for the Tyrone defence, but the Ulster side always looked comfortable.
Five Ronan O’Neill points, two of which were from play, meant that Tyrone’s passage to the semi-final was a relatively straightforward one.
The defeat is a crushing blow for Kerry and they will now be wondering where their next generation of players will come from.
