Women's Football:A hat-trick of goals from full forward Gemma Begley ensured Tyrone qualified for their first ever TG4 All-Ireland SFC semi-final on Saturday thanks to a 4-7 to 0-10 win over Armagh at Cusack Park, Mullingar.
Tyrone bounced back from their eight-point Ulster final loss to the same opposition and goals from Begley (2) and Cathy Donnelly helped them to a 3-2 to 0-4 interval lead.
A fourth goal on the restart from Begley completed her hat-trick and they held out for a nine-point victory.
In the second quarter-final at the same venue Mayo booked a semi-final place thanks to a 1-12 to 1-7 victory over Monaghan.
Cora Staunton's goal helped Mayo lead 1-6 to 0-5 at the break. A goal from Gráinne McNally brought Monaghan into contention midway through the second half but late points from Aoife Herbert, Staunton and Ciara McDermott saw Mayo home.
