GAA: Tyrone have made two changes for Sunday's All-Ireland quarter-final clash with Fermanagh at Croke Park. John Devine comes back in goal in place of Pascal McConnell, while Gerard Cavlan regains his place in the half-forward line at the expense of Séamus Mulgrew. Gavin Cummiskey reports.
With Colin Holmes and Chris Lawn still injured, Cormac McAnallen remains at full back for the second consecutive match.
Tom Brewster will start for Fermanagh after he recovered from a groin strain. However, manager Dom Corrigan has left a vacancy on the other side of the half-forward line.
Donegal make one change for their showdown with Galway as Paul McGonigle comes in for Jim McGuinness at number 12. It's McGonigle's first competitive start since the opening league match, which was against none other than their opponents this Monday.
Galway won that day with eight points to spare but Brian McEniff's men have come an awfully long way since their abysmal league campaign. In particular, the strike force of Adrian Sweeney and Brendan Devenney looks to be coming to the fore at the right time.
Fears about Devenney's recurring knee problems were shelved for the time being after he progressed through last night's session without any complaint. Damien Diver, however, hasn't recovered sufficiently from a slight bone fracture in his hand to regain a starting role.
Tom Carr has also made just one change to his starting 15 from the epic victory over Kildare last week, with Eamonn Towey coming in for Paul Noone at wing back for Roscommon's showdown with Kerry.
The Roscommon county board have decided not to pursue the Séamus O'Neill incident despite the fact they still claim he was wrongfully booked for his second yellow card, which meant his dismissal, last week.
Kerry and Laois are yet to name their teams for the weekend but an announcement is due from the O'Moore men this evening.
Paul McDonald is expected to come in for the suspended Kevin Fitzpatrick while Barry Brennan and fit-again Colm Parkinson are pressing hard for starting berths.
Meanwhile, Páidí Ó Sé has expressed disappointment with the quarter-final draw being delayed until Sunday night, arguing it denied teams time to prepare adequately for their opponents.
"It's very unfair that the lads are training away for two weeks and you have no idea of your opposition. It is very strange that they did not make the draw on Saturday night, after the two qualifiers were finished. That would have given people another 24 hours to prepare," he said.
Ó Sé warned of the potential pitfall Roscommon represent to his team's chances of progressing to face the winners of Tyrone and Fermanagh in the semi-finals.
"Roscommon are on a roll at the moment - they are after winning an amount of tight games, against Cork, Leitrim, Offaly and Kildare, and there is nothing better for a team's confidence than winning those types of games," he said.
"Roscommon are a very spirited side and have won matches that were virtual dogfights. We must match their enthusiasm on Monday and add in our own brand of Kerry football and passion.
"Tommy Carr has done extremely well and has got the best out of the players at his disposal. He had a point to prove after leaving Dublin and he has proved it.
"However, neither Tommy nor myself will be playing on Monday. It's all down to the players."
Midfield lynchpin Darragh Ó Sé looks set to be given the all clear for the tie as well.
"Darragh was back playing football with us on Saturday night last and we are reasonably confident that he will be okay," added Ó Sé, who believes a good start is vital on Monday.
"I hope we start on Monday the way we finished the Munster final. Despite all the negative comment about our win over Limerick, as far as I'm concerned we won the Munster title and we are still hanging in there in the championship and that's our priority."
