MIKE TYSON will postpone his May 3rd rematch with Evander Holyfleld after re-opening the cut over his left eye he originally suffered in his surprise loss to the same fighter. The fight is reported to have been postponed to June 28th, according to Marc Ratner, head of the Nevada Athletic Commission.
"My understanding is he was treated and stitched today and the fight will be postponed," Ratner said. Tyson's camp have scheduled a news conference for early today at the MGM Grand hotel, Las Vegas to discuss the reported injury.
Rntner added he was told that Tyson was cut in training three weeks ago and had given the cut time to heal. But he explained it had now been re-opened and the former heavyweight champion needs stitches.
