The holders, St Mary's, are out of this season's Collingwood Cup in Limerick but Ulster is more than well represented in the semi-finals, with UUC, Queen's and UUJ having made it through and they are joined by surprise packet, NUI Galway.
Queen's - 5, St Patrick's - 0
The biggest win in the competition was recorded by Queen's, who totally dominated St Patrick's and were 3-0 up at the break, with goals from Steve Hollywood, Laurence Higgins and Richard Spratt.
St Patrick's goalkeeper, Dave Carroll, was extra busy in the second half and made a string of fine saves but could not prevent Higgins and Hollywood from adding further scores.
Maynooth - 0 NUIG - 0
While NUIG had most of the play, they failed to find the target though Richard Dunne came close on two occasions. Andy Dickinson was in fine form between the posts for Maynooth, but a draw was good enough for NUIG.
St Mary's - 0 UUJ - 0
UUJ preserved their unbeaten run and knocked out Belfast's St Mary's. Most of the play was confined to midfield, with Damien Mooney and Conor Devine having come close for the holders.
UUC - 4 RCSI - 2
John Donaghey got UUC off on the right track with a fifth minute goal but they were taken by surprise when Raul Mariscal levelled through Lars Seeberg.
UUC upped the tempo in the second half and Ronan Rooney, Michael Coogan and John McElroy put them well ahead with Pat Daly having RCSI's second goal.
Trinity - 2 Magee - 2
Michael Morrison and Stephen Barr gave Magee College a handsome 2-0 interval lead, but fighting Trinity fought back to level with goals from Gavin Callon and Dermot Cobbe.
UCC - 3 UCD - 1
David Spratt was first off the mark for UCC and Owen Hickey made it 2-0 before Michael Newell replied. In the second half, UCC dominated and Mick Mulconry made it 3-1.
DIT - 3 DCU - 0
There were no problems for DIT, who opened the scoring through Anthony Kavanagh and then Cormac O'Leary made it 2-0 at the break. Trevor Hennessy tacked on number three in a lowkey second half.
Semi-Final Draw: UUC v NUIG; Queen's v UUJ, both 2.0 p.m. Plate semi-finals: Maynooth v DU; DIT v St Mary's.
