Dublin make two changes to the side which defeated Offaly before Christmas for Sunday's meeting with Leitrim at Parnell Park. The most significant news is the recall of dual player Liam Walsh to competitive action for the footballers.
Walsh, the county's most accomplished hurler, hasn't been part of a League or Championship panel for nearly five years but was recalled to the county colours last month for the O'Byrne Cup match against Carlow and held his place for the semi-final of the competition against Westmeath.
Highly thought of by Pat O'Neill's All-Ireland-winning management team, Walsh was originally seen as a long-term successor to Dermot Deasy at full back, a position which has not been satisfactorily filled on the Dublin team since the latter's retirement two and a half years ago.
Nonetheless since his recall Walsh has been lining out at right corner back and is again selected there for the weekend's match which brings together the top and bottom teams in the division.
The second newcomer to this season's NFL campaign is the highly promising Niall O'Donoghue who has been seen to good effect in the O'Byrne Cup. A former Roscommon player, currently affiliated to the Boyle club, O'Donoghue was born in Dublin and had been off the inter-county scene for over a year before declaring for his native county.
He replaces Brendan O'Brien who was detained in hospital with concussion after Dublin's victory in Tullamore in the county's last NFL match before Christmas. Walsh's recall is in place of the injured Paddy Christie. Other injury worries have broken even with Ciaran Whelan fit to line out at centrefield but Ian Robertson has not fully recovered from his recent ankle ligaments operation.
Tyrone have made sweeping changes for Sunday's Division One A Ulster derby against Donegal at Omagh. Only two players retain the places they occupied in the drawn game against Leitrim on November 29th, with six new players drafted into the side.
Ciaran Gourley makes his National League debut at left half back, while Niall McSorley is given his first start in the half forward line. Ciaran McBride, more familiar in the full forward line, will play at centrefield, where he will be partnered by Pascal Canavan.
Another established attacker, Brian Dooher, finds himself figuring in the half backs. Full back Chris Lawn and centre back Colin Holmes are the only to remain in the positions they occupied in the draw at Carrick-on-Shannon.
All but four of the Kildare team which finished the All-Ireland final will line out against Laois in Sunday's Division One B match at Portlaoise. Missing will be Sos Dowling, Eddie McCormack, Dermot Earley and Martin Lynch.
The team shows two changes from the side which defeated Mayo in the last league outing. John Finn returns from injury and will start at right half back instead of Derek Maher. Midfielder, Niall Buckley will also start instead of All Star Earley who is injured.
Monaghan have left one centrefield position vacant for Sunday's vital game against Derry in Celtic Park as team manager, Eamonn McEnaney awaits fitness reports on both Joe Coyle and Phil McCaul, both of whom have picked up injuries recently.
The game is a vital one for Monaghan as they enter it with four points from three outings while Derry have just one point from their three.
Cavan make four changes for Val Andrews's first NFL match after succeeding Liam Austin last month. Philip Kermath, Raymond Galligan and Dan Mel Reilly are replaced by Terry Farrelly, Ciaran Brady and Patrick Shiels. Mark Leddy also comes in for Cathal Collins at full forward.
