WOMEN'S GOLF:The USA team for this year's Curtis Cup match against Britain and Ireland over the Old Course at St Andrews in Scotland will include Irish-born Alison Walshe. The 22-year-old left Galway at five for America and holds both Irish and American passports.
A senior at the University of Arizona, Walshe started 2008 with a victory at the Harder Hall Invitational. She also won the 2007 North and South Women's Amateur Championship.
Walshe, who began her collegiate career at Boston College before transferring to Tulane University, has earned first-team honours in three different conferences.
The team will be captained by Carol Semple Thompson.
