National League Waterford 2 Finn Harps 2There was no shortage of drama at the RSC last night as relegation contenders Waterford United and Finn Harps cancelled each other out.
United opened the scoring in the 45th minute when Rodney Jack outpaced the defence to flick the ball into the net past the advancing goalkeeper Gavin Cullen.
Harps equalised seven minutes into the second-half when Anthony Gorman's 35-yard blockbuster took a deflection before flying into the roof of the net.
United regained the lead on 63 minutes with Kevin Doherty poking the ball across the line in a goalmouth scramble.
United were just three minutes away from their first victory since April 29th when disaster struck. Kevin McHugh crossed from the left and Sean Finn, attempting to volley to safety, skewed the ball into his own net.
