RACING:DERMOT WELD isn't confining his end-of-year targets on the flat to just Dundalk and his two-year-old colt Blue White Fire will travel to Los Angeles for a Grade Three pot at Hollywood Park tomorrow week, writes Brian O'Connor.
Weld has booked top Californian based rider Garret Gomez for the ride on the Gowran Park winner in the $100,000 (€74m) Generous Stakes over a mile on the turf.
Blue White Fire, a son of Montjeu, hasn’t run since finishing last of the five behind David Livingston in the Group Two Beresford Stakes at the Curragh.
In other international news, Eddie Lynam’s Group One winning sprinter Sole Power will appear next in the €1.3 million Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Sprint on December 11th. The 2010 Nunthorpe winner has been out of luck since winning the Temple Stakes in May but was placed on his last start in the Prix de l’Abbaye last month.
