The Wales coach, Kevin Bowring, wants to meet his New Zealand counterpart, John Hart, before Saturday's international between the countries at Wembley to discuss the haka. Hart was angry last Saturday that England showed a lack of respect for the traditional Maori chant before the start of the game at Old Trafford and Bowring does not want the two sets of players to confront each other during the haka.
"I would like to see both sides standing on their 10-yard lines during the haka and I will be raising this with New Zealand," he said. "We want to treat the haka with respect. Its tradition demands it."
Bowring has made five changes from the side which defeated Tonga last week for the encounter against the All Blacks, who are unbeaten this year and who have not lost to Wales since 1953.
Fullback Kevin Morgan, centre Allan Bateman and prop David Young, who missed the Tonga international through injury, return, while Robert Howley, who made an immediate impact when he came on as a second-half substitute against the Tongans, has displaced Paul John at scrum-half.
The Harlequins second row Gareth Llewellyn replaces the injured Steve Moore to win his 60th cap eight years after making his debut for Wales against the 1989 All Blacks. Wales have lost their last 12 internationals against New Zealand.
