European number one Lee Westwood shot a three under par 69 to win the $1.2 million Taiheiyo Masters men's golf tournament in Tokyo for the third year running yesterday. The 25-year-old Briton, who started with bogeys on the first two holes, stormed back to tie for the lead on the 12th hole and held on to the victory adding six birdies against one more bogey.
Westwood completed the four rounds at 13 under par 275, two strokes ahead of Japan's Masashi Ozaki, who hit a 67. Westwood collected the winner's cheque of 27 million yen ($220,000).
