The Kilanerin attacker kicked six first-half points as he drove Wexford to a 0-8 to 0-3 interval lead.

With Forde continuing to pick off points on the resumption the home side cruised into a 0-11 to 0-3 lead. Waterford battled back with points from Willie Hennessy (2), Billy Harty and Eoin Walsh, and an injury time goal from substitute Connie Power.
