Asked for a breakdown of the income which the FAI says it has already secured towards the projected £65 million cost of Eircom Park, FAI chief executive Bernard O'Byrne listed the following items.
Naming rights: - £11 million (Eircom) Franchise sponsors: - £7.5 million (TSB, Coca Cola and Beamish and Crawford £2.5 million each) Corporate boxes: - £13.25 million (53 @ £250,000) Advance 10-year seating: - £16.5 million (3,000 @ £5,500) Total: - £48.25 million
O'Byrne said that two further franchise sponsors will be confirmed over the next few weeks adding £5 million to this figure. He says he is also convinced that the remaining 5,000 10-year seats costing £2,900 and £5,500 will be sold as the project proceeds.
O'Byrne also said that, while the main terms of the construction contract for the stadium have been agreed, there is scope for the cost of this work to come in below the figure currently being budgeted for. It is intended that this element of the development will be finalised with the builders when a figure is reached for the stadium portion of the much larger Arena 2000 in Coventry.
