Wigan boss Roberto Martinez has warned suitors hoping to tempt his prize assets away, including Republic of Ireland international James McCarthy, the club will not be selling during this transfer window.

McCarthy, Franco Di Santo and Maynor Figueroa have all been linked with other Premier League clubs, with attention particularly focused on McCarthy.

The midfielder is reportedly in the sights of Arsenal and Everton, but Martinez insisted there have been no inquiries and any that do arrive will be met with a firm rebuff.

“I’ve always said it’s a real compliment when you’ve got teams looking at our players,” said the Latics manager.
