The famous partnership between owner Daniel Wildenstein and trainer Andre Fabre has come to end, it was confirmed yesterday. And the 42 horses that Wildenstein has stabled with Fabre are instead to join Elie Lellouche.
The news was confirmed at Saint-Cloud yesterday where Lellouche was preparing to welcome the new draft. Lellouche said: "I have been told that Monsieur Wildenstein will be moving the 42 horses to my stables. Twenty of this group are two-year-olds."
Ruby Walsh got down to near his minimum weight of 10st3lb on River Cora in the £18,000 Niall Brosnan & Co Solicitor Handicap Chase, and the effort proved more than worthwhile as the Willie Mullins-trained gelding landed the spoils at Killarney yesterday.
Walsh, who celebrated his 22nd birthday yesterday, gave the seven-year-old a powerfull drive from the last to beat Emerald Gale by a length. `We will aim him at the Galway Plate, and hopefully he can get into the handicap', said Mullins.
