Norman Williamson, out of luck on Nick Dundee, had further disappointment in the Red Mills Trial Hurdle as his mount, Mantles Prince, faded in the latter stages and was reported by trainer Pat Hughes to have finished lame.

Victory went to Youlneverwalkalone, who justified odds of 4 to 7 with the minimum of fuss by two lengths from 20 to 1 chance Goldstreet to earn a trip to the Stayers' Hurdle.

Christy Roche, who had seen Youlneverwalkalone fail to finish on his two previous starts at Cheltenham, was relieved at the outcome although he felt the favourite had probably hit the front too soon.

"He will go for the Stayers' Hurdle at Cheltenham along with Bannow Bay unless the ground comes up too quick for the Festival," he said.
