Frank Gannon brought a busy weekend to a profitable conclusion with two wins in two days. On Friday the Skerries scratch player was an eight-shot winner of the Grange Golf Club Mid Amateur Trophy and he followed that with a 6 up to win the four-ball with Joe Whelan on Saturday at his home course. Gannon opened with an impressive one under par 67 in difficult conditions at The Grange and followed with a 72 in the afternoon to win from Neil Kilgallon (European Club) on 147 and Hugh Donnelly from the host Club on 149.
Ed Smith from the Grange won the nett with a two-round total of 142, while Graham Donald of Portmarnock had cause for celebration when he holed out his tee shot at the par-three sixth.
