Tiger Woods added another prestigious title to his fast-growing collection with an easy four-shot victory at the US PGA Tour Championship in Houston.
The 23-year-old American clinched his third consecutive tournament win and pocketed his seventh winner's cheque of the year, the most in one US PGA Tour season since Tom Watson collected seven victories in 1980.
The $900,000 first prize bumped his season earnings to better than $5.6million and secured him the money title for the second time in three years.
"I feel very comfortable about my golf swing," Woods said, adding that he had been immproving it since 1997. "Now my game is where I'd like to have it, with the mind, to win golf tournaments."
Woods began the day with a three-shot lead and simply played consistent golf, shooting a two-under-par 69 to finish with a 72-hole total of 15-under 269 to set the tournament scoring record. Davis Love shot 67 to finish second at 11-under 273, one stroke better than Brent Geiberger and two in front of Chris Perry.
