Ian Woosnam has had his own air scare in the week which saw the tragic death of US Open champion Payne Stewart.
Woosnam, owner of a private jet, was flying from his Jersey home to the Volvo Masters in Spain when the oxygen masks dropped.
Pilot Robin Richards quickly reduced his altitude to equalise pressure and returned to Jersey, where a fault with a compression seal was found.
The 41-year-old former Masters champion then flew to Jerez on another plane in time to tee-off in yesterday's first round of the £1 million event.
