Spotted on Football 365 last week, superb allegations of corruption in football. "Anderlecht are threatening to sue a Belgian newspaper after it accused the club of attempting to bribe former West Ham United defender Frank Lampard Senior with 60,000 bottles of beer before the 1976 Cup Winners' Cup final." How much of the bribe did Lampard consume before the game? Hard to say, but "Anderlecht won the game 4-2, thanks in no small part to a wayward Lampard back-pass that allowed Robbie Rensenbrink to steal in and level three minutes before half-time. Lampard was substituted at the break." Hic.
