The Irish Basketball Association called off all National League fixtures for the weekend and a decision on the future of next weekend's schedule will be taken early next week. The Irish Colleges inter-varsity competition, scheduled for this weekend at NUI Maynooth, has also been cancelled, along with schools and inter-county fixtures.

Organisers of the Ballycotton 10- mile road race, due to take place on Sunday March 11th, have postponed the event until further notice.

The Irish Schools Cross Country championships, scheduled for March 10th in Carlow, have been cancelled.

The AAI national juvenile training squad sessions to be held in Dublin, Cork and Galway have also been called-off until further notice.
