BOXING: Something unusual will happen at the National Stadium tonight. There will not be a single national senior champion in sight as Ireland take on the Netherlands in a full international, reports Pat Roche.
Instead the Irish team will include a liberal sprinkling of under-21 and former youths international medalists.
IABA president Dom O'Rourke defended the policy: "We have a huge and impressive group of young promising boxers who must be given a chance to show their class at this level."
DRUGS IN SPORT: The World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada) are considering increasing minimum drug bans from two to four years and using one sample to determine a positive test.
Wada will host their executive committee meeting in Montreal on Sunday and Monday where they plan to discuss a number of issues.
Chairman Dick Pound confirmed they would debate the possibility of increasing suspensions, a policy he claimed had the backing of a number of federations.
