Pavel Tonkov of Russia won yesterday's 13th stage of the Tour of Spain, a 196 kilometre ride between Ponferrada and Valgrande Pajares in the north of the country.

The overall leadership did not change with Alex Zulle of Switzerland holding on to the yellow jersey ahead of his compatriot Laurent Dufaux and Spaniard Fernando Escartin.
