The UCC Commerce Society is running a three-day summit billed as Ireland's first ever Digital Marketing Summit. The summit, which runs until Wednesday, is being conducted entirely by students and will highlight the growing importance of digital marketing in business.
The event, which is being held on the main campus of University College Cork, will feature talks by digital marketing experts with international experience.
“This is the first three day digital marketing summit of it’s kind in Ireland with an incredible line up of speakers,” said Padraig O’Connor of the UCC Commerce Society.
“During the sessions, speakers will be discussing the latest social media, mobile, blogging and online marketing trends. Throughout the week, we will be conducting a variety of seminars that will be of particular interest to marketers, business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs. The best part is most of the events are free of charge!”
The main speaker on Tuesday (Boole 1, 7pm) is Shane McCarthy of Blue Chief Solutions who will discuss social media as a platform for businesses. Prizes will be awarded for the best questions during the a question and answer session.
Suzanne Jackson of SoSueMe.ie is scheduled as the featured speaker on Wednesday (Devere Hall, 7pm). She will discuss how she used her blog to build her business.
Admission is free of charge.
