A range of developers and investors are expected to express an interest in the sale of a large, landmark site in Kilkenny city centre.

Occupied previously by the Kilkenny mart prior to its move to its current location on the Dublin Road, the subject holding comprises 8.57 acres (3.47 hectares) with extensive frontage of 550m (1,804ft) on to New Road, Castlecomer New Road and Old Mart Road.

The site, which is zoned “General Business – to provide for general development”, is being offered to the market by joint agents Savills and Bagnall Doyle MacMahon at a guide price of €6 million.

The subject property is highly accessible by both road and public transport with good access to the N10 and M9 as well as the Kilkenny (MacDonagh) train station. More recently the new Kilkenny Access Road has been constructed linking the site to the city via Wolfe Town Street and the council-owned Brewery site.
