TV3's new evening magazine show Life is warming up ahead of its January launch by asking social media users to get in touch if they have any news or stories they would like to share.
“If it’s interesting to YOU, it’s interesting to US,” the team behind the show has confidently tweeted.
TV3 describes Life as "a major commitment" to "cover people and items of interest happening all over Ireland". The reports will be blended with studio guest segments in the style of the BBC's The One Show. It will feature an as-yet- unannounced anchor or anchors, with Sybil Mulcahy, Ciara Doherty and Michael Ryan in reporting roles.
Alongside the twice-weekly soap Red Rock, the weeknight lifestyle programme is part of TV3's response to the loss of soap operas Coronation Street and Emmerdale to UTV Ireland. It also represents part of the 75 per cent of the broadcaster's programming budget that it is set to spend on home productions next year.
But, in a 7.30pm slot, it will be counting on the non-soap- watching audience for ratings, as Life will clash with Coronation Street on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and with BBC One/RTÉ One's EastEnders on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
