High Court proceedings against the Papal Nuncio, who is being sued for damages by a Co Wexford man who claims he was one of the boys sexually abused by the late Father Sean Fortune, were adjourned for two weeks yesterday.

The Bishop of Ferns, Dr Brendan Comiskey, is being sued in the same case.

Yesterday in the High Court the Papal Nuncio's counsel said an affidavit of reply had been sent to Rome for approval.

He sought an adjournment until a response had been received by the Nuncio, Dr Luciano Storero.

Mr Justice O'Sullivan said he would adjourn the matter for two weeks.

The action for damages is by Mr Paul Molloy (28), of Saltmills, Fethard-on-Sea, who alleges that in 1988 he complained to Dr Comiskey about being sexually abused by Father Fortune.
