Sir, – Surely it was always the political elite's plan that us little people, no matter what our circumstances, would be forced out of our vulgar little cars and onto public transport and electric scooters? ("Electric vehicle grants benefit wealthy, study finds", News, March 4th).

Sir, – The survey you report on was based on evidence of where the charge points were installed. I find this survey superfluous considering the price of electric vehicles.
Perhaps the next survey by Trinity College Dublin and Queen’s University could research how to help the less wealthy to afford electric vehicles.
