Christine Ourmieres-Widener, the outgoing chief executive of Cityjet, has a new job. She has been appointed chief global sales officer for American Express Global Business Travel, the credit card company's network of travel agencies across 140 countries.
After four and a half years based in Dublin with Cityjet, Ourmieres-Widener (above) will be based in London from June. One of Cityjet’s main routes is between the two cities, of course, so if she ever wants to pop back to see any of her pals here, her old employer should be able to sort her out with a decent fare.
Philippe Chérèque, the chief commercial officer of Amex GBT, welcomed Ourmieres-Widener’s appointment by describing her as a travel industry “luminary”.
High praise indeed. No pressure, then, Christine.
