Big companies and firms located in Dublin are better prepared for EMU than their smaller counterparts or companies based in Ulster and Connacht, an EMU business awareness survey has shown.

The study, carried out by Forfas, also found the construction sector was among the least prepared, while the chemical and pharmaceuticals sector topped the league in terms of readiness for the single currency. More than 600 companies, in all enterprise sectors except agriculture, were surveyed.
