The Margin is no fan of the idea of placing TV screens in such places as waiting rooms, shop lobbies and DART station platforms, so it was less than impressed when, during a recent visit to the Burlington Hotel in Dublin, a TV screen was discovered in the wall of the gents.

Male readers will be glad to hear that the screen was not in the position traditionally taken by the front and racing pages of newspapers, and in fact was in the wall opposite.

The screen was showing Aertel's stock exchange page, so gents on their way out could do a quick check on the footsie index and be reassured that the bottom had not fallen out of the market. So to speak.
