Compact body? Check. 4K photo mode? Check. Powerful zoom? Check. The Panasonic TZ90 is ticking a lot of the right boxes. But at an RRP of €479.99, can people be persuaded that a point-and-shoot camera is worth the investment?
If you need something more than a smartphone, the answer is probably yes. The TZ90 has a wide angle 24mm lens, a tilting screen and a 30x optical zoom that gets you close to the action. Optical image stabilisation will keep your shots steady, and the 20.3-megapixel sensor will deliver some decent shots.
There’s also the 4K photo mode that extracts stills at 8 megapixels, the ability to change the focus point after shooting and combine multiple images to change the depth of field of your shots.
It’s also got a panorama selfie mode and a range of advanced controls for more experienced users.
