The latest issue of Consumer Choice magazine offers some useful "tips" on tipping. The report says there are no hard and fast rules about tipping and that it is up to the consumer to decide whether the service they received was good enough.
It suggests following guidelines from countries such as the US, where it is customary to leave a tip of between 10 per cent and 15 per cent. The report suggests people should tip delivery men, floor staff, hairdressers, porters and taxi drivers.
