We're guessing the moniker is from an unfinished Nirvana outtake (for Nevermind), but former And So I Watch You from Afar member Tony Wright isn't saying. Taking not so much a sidestep as a giant leap, Wright removes himself from ASIWYFA's pulverising, hypnotic modus operandi and replaces it with something softer and less exciting. That said – and wiping away the connection with his former band is crucial – the album has much to recommend it, not least a sure-footed sense of how to mix rebelliousness, politics and punked-up rootsiness without putting a foot wrong. So make way for evocative Neil Young vibes (Help Myself), countrifed Clash (You Can't Win Back Your Freedom If You've Never Been Free) and a military two-step down the nape of your neck (Unified Unity – Sing for Seeger).
