They're brisk walkers at Hamilton Osborne King, given the agency's claim in a recent advertisement for the River Park Development at Island Bridge, Dublin 8. The ad said the apartments were a "10-minute walk from O'Connell Street Bridge". The Advertising Standards Authority received several complaints about the claim and upheld them all during their December meeting. HOK took the ruling on the chin and agreed to change the ads to a less Olympic speed.

At the same meeting, Douglas Newman Good was taken to task over a brochure for a housing development at the Belfry, Kilbarrack Road, Dublin 5. The brochure featured Bray DART station and not, as one member of the public pointed out, nearby Kilbarrack or Howth Junction. And furthermore, the beach photographed was Skerries, which is 25 miles away. Douglas Newman Good put up a good defence to the Advertising Standards Authority, pointing out that what it was trying to do was give an indication of the type of facilities nearby. The complaint oddly enough, was not upheld which would seem to give agencies great latitude in brochure design.
