There's nothing like the small world of estate agency for coming full circle. Take the return of Colm Byrne to Sherry FitzGerald after a 15 year sojourn.

Byrne joins the team as director of new homes having previously worked there from 1998 to 2002. Byrne then jumped to the world of development when he joined housebuilders Menolly Homes and Temple Construction. A few years later he co-founded new homes and property management business Guardian Property, which was acquired by JLL in 2015 to establish its first residential platform in Ireland.

It looks as if Byrne will now be tasked with handling the expansion of Sherry Fitz’s new homes footprint regionally. Head of new homes Ivan Gaine said: “Colm’s appointment further enforces the national strategy for Sherry FitzGerald New Homes. We have seen established developers and new entrants active in site acquisition in the major cities over the last number of years and this activity is now spreading into the commuter towns in Meath and Kildare and beyond.”
