Auction results

Monday (January 23rd) Morgan O'Driscoll Auctioneers, "Irish Art Online Auction". Ninety per cent of lots sold. Lot 15, Threshing by Patrick Leonard, sold for €6,500 (it had an estimated price of €3,000-€5,000); Lot 8, Belfast Shipyard Worker, wax crayon on paper, by William Conor signed and dated, April 15th, 1912 (the day Titanic sank) €1,200 (€1,500-€2,500).

Tuesday (January 24th) John Weldon Auctioneers, Cow's Lane, Temple Bar Dublin 8. A military OBE (Order of the British empire) medal awarded to Captain JW O'Kelly of Kinnegad, Co Westmeath, (a British army officer during the War of Independence in 1921) along with two first World War medals sold for €850 (€500-€1,500); a pair of 18ct gold Patek Philippe cufflinks €900 (€800-€1,200); a string of black pearls €1,050 (€1,000-€2,000).

At Adams Blackrock Auctioneers, a Bechstein boudoir grand piano will go on sale with an estimated price of €2,000-€3,000, while the full-length mink coat, “provenance Macy’s, New York”  is expected to fetch €1,000-€1,500

Wednesday (January 25th) O'Reilly's Auction Rooms, Francis Street, Dublin 8. Lot 68, an antique ruby and diamond ring sold for €3,200 (€3,000-€4,000); Lot 237; a 14ct gold brooch in the form of a rabbit with diamond ears, ruby eyes and holding a carrot made of coral sold for €2,900 (€2,800-€3,500); Lot 59; A Ladies' Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust Wristwatch in steel and gold with original box and papers sold for €2,300 (€1,800-€2,000).
