The days of the giant Christmas selection box, containing a disappointingly small haul of goodies, seem to be numbered.
To address customers' environmental concerns, Nestlé Ireland has reduced the amount of packaging used in its selection boxes by a minimum of a quarter, and is using up to 75 per cent recyclable materials. The treats inside won't be shrinking, though. The initiative is to be carried through to Nestlé's Easter egg range, too, which is good news. mcdigby@irishtimes.com
