Gardaí are questioning two people in Wicklow on suspected terrorist offences.
A Garda spokeswoman confirmed two people had been arrested on Wednesday and were being detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
They are being questioned at Shankill Garda station and may be held for up to seven days before they must be either charged or released.
It was reported today that the arrests took place after guns were seized during a Garda operation in the Wicklow mountains.
