Manila - Grieving relatives yesterday buried the charred remains of 22 children and two adults who perished in a predawn orphanage fire last week in a common grave in the Philippine capital.

A downpour delayed the ceremony and accentuated the gloomy mood as three hearses carried the tiny white coffins to a section of the northern Manila graveyard long known as the "cemetery of the orphans".
