Bogota - At least 30 people died when left-wing guerrillas attacked a rightist paramilitary training camp near Colombia's northern border, Colombia's Defence Minister said yesterday.
In separate communiques, guerrillas and paramilitaries said the fighting left a toll of 35 dead but differed as to casualties on each side when guerrillas attacked a paramilitary training camp at Pavarando near the border with Panama on Tuesday.
A communique from the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), Colombia's oldest and largest guerrilla force, said all the dead were paramilitaries, and that FARC captured weapons and equipment.
