Aer Arann and Aer Lingus are to expand the range of services operated from Cork operated under the Aer Lingus Regional banner.
The additional flights to Manchester and Birmingham will double the services on each route, with the Manchester flight operating twice a day, and the Birmingham flight going twice daily for six days and a return flight on Saturdays.
The schedule will come into force from October 31st.
Separately, rival airline Ryanair announced its traffic rose 15 per cent last month. The airline carried 6.71 million passengers during the month compared to 5.84 million in June last year. Its load factor, which indicates how full the flights are, fell 1 per cent to 84 per cent.
In the 12 months to June, Ryanair carried 69.2 million passengers, with 82 per cent load factor.
